Welcome to our guide on dropshipping in Singapore.
Initially, our goal was to compile a list of the best dropshipping suppliers in Singapore, just like we did for many other countries.
However, to our surprise, we didn't find any competent dropshipping suppliers that ship from Singapore.
And you're probably having the same issue...
So, if there are no local suppliers, what's the best way to do dropshipping in Singapore? And is it even worth it?
That's what we'll discuss today!
Challenges of dropshipping in Singapore
Dropshipping in Singapore is not as simple as setting up a store, finding a supplier, and waiting for sales to roll in.
There are some unique challenges you’ll face, especially in such a small but highly competitive market!
Let’s break down the main challenges and what they mean for your business.
1. Lack of local dropshipping suppliers
Here’s the first big challenge: Singapore doesn’t have many (if any) dropshipping suppliers based locally.
In other countries, like the US or Australia, you can find suppliers that ship from within the same country, which means faster delivery and lower shipping costs.
But in Singapore, that’s not the case.
Here's the empty Singapore warehouse page from CJdropshipping:

The reason?
It's not fully clear to us, but we do know that Singapore is a small market compared to those larger countries.
Many of the most popular dropshipping suppliers focus on establishing warehouses in larger markets before moving to a country like Singapore.
Plus, the ecommerce market in Singapore has only recently started growing rapidly, so it's still in an early phase.
In short, if you're planning to do dropshipping in Singapore, you can't do so with local suppliers.
This means you’ll likely have to work with overseas suppliers, which brings us to the next challenge…
2. Competition from Shopee, Lazada, and others
Let’s face it: platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and Qoo10 dominate Singapore’s ecommerce market at the moment:

They’re household names, and they’ve set the bar high with incredibly fast deliveries, low prices, and plenty of discounts:

As a dropshipper, you’re competing directly with these giants, and they have massive resources at their disposal.
Customers in Singapore are used to getting their orders in one or two days, and they love the convenience of these platforms with their mobile apps.
That makes it harder for a smaller Shopify dropshipping store to stand out, especially if your shipping times are longer or your prices aren’t as competitive.
3. The Singaporean customer
Here’s another challenge: many Singaporeans are some of the most brand- and tech-savvy shoppers in the world.
Most of them are highly informed and know how to hunt for the best deals online.
If they see a Shopify store with delivery times of 10 days or more, they may immediately suspect it’s a dropshipping store sourcing products from China.

What happens next?
They’ll hop on AliExpress, Shopee, or other platforms, find the exact same product, and buy it directly from there—even if the price is similar.
They will know it’s the same item, and they trust those platforms to deliver faster or cheaper thanks to negligible import taxes on small goods.
4. Registration and tax
Starting a dropshipping business in Singapore also comes with some administrative and tax hurdles.
If you’re a Singaporean or Permanent Resident, you’ll need to register your business with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA):

This step is mandatory, even if you’re just running a small dropshipping store, and it comes with costs and compliance requirements.
If you’re a foreigner hoping to run a dropshipping business in Singapore, things get even trickier.
You’ll need to work through local representatives or set up a formal company in Singapore, which involves strict regulations.
On top of that, once your annual revenue exceeds SGD 1 million, you’re required to register for Goods and Services Tax (GST).
This means adding GST to your prices and filing regular tax returns, which can complicate your operations if you’re not prepared.
4 Dropshipping suppliers with the fastest shipping to Singapore

It’s not perfect, but with the right strategy, it can work.

They have access to warehouses in various countries but ship most products from China.
For shipping to Singapore, they offer delivery times of 10-15 days, but you can also pay extra for a faster shipping option which takes 3-7 days:

Pros
- Fast shipping. CJdropshipping does a great job of offering reliable shipping times from China because they've set up their own shipping lines, like CJPacket.
- No monthly membership fee. When dropshipping with CJdropshipping, you won't have to pay any setup fees, storage fees, or monthly fees.
- Sourcing service. Have you seen an awesome product on Shopee or Lazada but don't see it on CJdropshipping? If so, you can post a sourcing request, and CJdropshipping's team will try to source it for you!

If you are looking for a dropshipping supplier in China, AliExpress is still one of the best places to look.
Dropshipping with AliExpress is still a profitable business model in 2025, but you need the right knowledge to find the best sellers and get the fastest shipping times.
Another piece of good news is that the shipping times on AliExpress are generally faster than what CJdropshipping offers (if you're not paying extra for express shipping), which is a huge advantage.
For example, the shipping time to Singapore for this product is 6-10 days:

Pros
- Cashback. If you didn’t know already, you can get 4.3% – 5.9% cashback on all your AliExpress orders, which is great for your product’s pricing strategy. To read how, check out this article.
- Easy refunds for missing orders. If a product you bought on AliExpress doesn't get delivered, you can easily start a dispute. More often than not, you will get your money refunded.
- AliExpress dropshipping center. The AliExpress Dropshipping Center is a tool that helps you analyze products before selling them and more!
- Relatively fast shipping. Shipping to Singapore is relatively fast at 4-8 business days on average.
Cons
- Transparent. Because AliExpress is so popular, competitors or customers will often try to find your product on the platform, making sales harder.
- Requires a supporting app. The best way to use AliExpress for dropshipping is to add a third-party app like DSers.
How do you connect AliExpress to your store?
You will need a separate app to connect AliExpress with your store.
To do this, you can use DSers or one of its awesome alternatives!
Pricing
AliExpress is free to use.

Alternative approach: ecommerce with a 3PL in Singapore
If the challenges of dropshipping in Singapore feel too overwhelming, there’s another option you can consider: using a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) provider in Singapore.
This approach shifts you away from traditional dropshipping since you’ll hold some inventory, but it can offer big advantages in speed, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
A 3PL (Third-Party Logistics provider) is a company that handles storage, packing, and shipping for your business.

Essentially, they act as your warehouse and fulfillment partner.
Instead of shipping products directly from an overseas supplier to your customer, you purchase inventory in bulk (usually from a supplier like Alibaba) and store it with a 3PL in Singapore.

When you receive an order, the 3PL takes care of picking, packing, and delivering it.
With this approach, you benefit from:
- Faster shipping times. With your inventory already in Singapore, orders can be delivered within 1-2 days, matching the speed of platforms like Shopee or Lazada.
- Improved customer trust. Quick delivery times and reliable shipping help build trust with customers. They’re less likely to suspect your store is a dropshipper and more likely to shop with you again.
- Custom branding options. Many 3PLs allow you to customize packaging with your brand name and logo. This makes your store look more professional and helps you stand out in a competitive market.
- Avoiding common dropshipping issues. With a 3PL, you don’t have to worry about common dropshipping issues like custom holdups, surprise shipping fees, or customers complaining about long wait times.
- Sell on online marketplaces. You can also use the 3PL's services to simultaneously sell your products on platforms like Shopee.
Just keep in mind that this approach doesn't only involve benefits, it also has disadvantages.
For example, it requires an initial investment in inventory and storage fees.
And if your products don’t sell, you’re stuck with unsold inventory.
So, in short, this approach is ideal for you if:
- You want to offer faster shipping times and compete with platforms like Shopee or Lazada.
- You’re ready to invest in inventory upfront.
- You’ve already identified products with strong demand and believe in their potential to sell.
How do you succeed with dropshipping in the Singaporean market?
Singapore is a unique ecommerce market.
Its small but tech-savvy population, intense competition, and high expectations for speed and service mean that a thought-through approach is required to succeed.
Here are some quick tips to do so:
1. Don't start a general store, focus on a niche
In Singapore, general products are often already available on platforms like Shopee or Lazada at unbeatable prices.
Instead of trying to compete with these giants, build a niche or one-product store to stand out and target underserved niches.
Look for products that are:
- Unique or hard to find locally.
- Tailored to specific interests, hobbies, or lifestyles (e.g., eco-friendly products or accessories for a specific dog breed).
- Aligned with current trends in Singapore, like sustainable living or minimalist design.
By focusing on a niche, you can attract an audience that values what you offer and is willing to wait or pay a premium.
2. Optimize your shipping times
Singaporean customers love fast delivery, so meeting or exceeding their expectations is essential.
If your products are shipped from overseas, clearly communicate delivery times on your website:

Honesty goes a long way in earning trust.
Also, give customers the option to pay extra for faster delivery. Many Singaporeans value speed over cost.
3. Build a strong local brand
Singaporean consumers are brand-conscious and trust businesses that look professional and local.
Even if you’re dropshipping, you can position yourself as a trustworthy Singaporean store by:
- Using a .sg domain. A .sg website can help you establish local credibility.

- Customize your store for Singapore. Use familiar payment methods like PayNow, GrabPay, or credit cards. Write your website copy in clear, conversational English (or even include a Chinese version for wider appeal).
- Highlighting your Singapore connection. Even if your products come from overseas, emphasize that you’re a business run by Singaporeans or based in Singapore.
4. Plan around Singapore's events and holidays
Singaporeans love shopping during sales and festive seasons.
That means it's best to plan your promotions around these key events:
- Great Singapore Sale (GSS). Offer exclusive deals during this nationwide shopping event.
- Festive seasons. Run campaigns for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali, and Christmas.
- Singles’ Day and Black Friday. These global online shopping events are huge in Singapore as well.
