Our mission

Our mission is simple: help you understand dropshipping before you spend money on it.

We'll show you how the model works, what it costs, and where it can go wrong. We'll also explain the work that starts after your store goes live.

If dropshipping makes sense for you, we'll help you move forward. If it doesn't, we'd rather you find out here than after paying for a course or tool you don't need.

How does dropshipping work?

Why Do Dropshipping exists

Do Dropshipping started after Richard saw expensive courses presenting dropshipping as an easy way to make money online.

Many sales pitches focused on quick results while saying much less about product research, supplier problems, and returns.

Customer service, taxes, and testing costs were often left out too.

That lack of context can get expensive. You can spend hundreds or thousands of dollars before you understand the business you're trying to build.

We created Do Dropshipping to make that information easier to access for free.

What dropshipping really involves

Dropshipping can be a useful ecommerce model, but it isn't passive income, and it doesn't remove your responsibility to the customer.

Your supplier may store and ship the product. You still choose what to sell and set customer expectations.

You also handle support when something goes wrong.

You need to test products and marketing. Some attempts won't work. That's part of running a real store.

We want you to make the decision with realistic expectations.

How we help

We publish free guides and comparisons. We also share real store examples.

Our checklists and tools help you:

  • Understand the business model before you start
  • Compare suppliers, platforms, and tools
  • Check the costs and risks involved
  • Learn from real store examples
  • Apply the information to your own situation
  • Decide what to do next

We update important guides when pricing, policies, or platform features change.

Read our Editorial Policy to learn more about how we research and update our content.

Why our guides are free

One thing hasn't changed since 2018: we do not sell a paid dropshipping course.

You can use our guides, comparisons, and tools without buying a course from us.

Display ads and affiliate links help fund the site. We may also work with sponsors or commercial partners.

Those relationships do not decide what we publish. They also do not change how we explain the strengths and weaknesses of a supplier, platform, or tool.

What this mission has meant to readers

"I was almost salivating wanting to join an ecom guru group this week, but I didn't have the $5k. I am blown away by the massive amount of research you've made available for free. So grateful!"

- Renae Email subscriber

"Your blogs have really given me the confidence and kick I need to actually give this a go for myself and not buy from a "dropshipping guru" that I've been seeing everywhere online. Everything that you publish is super relevant and completely transparent, which makes me feel better about starting my journey."

- Kristina Email subscriber

"A million thanks for this insightful blog post. I was almost joining an eCommerce training course which would have cost me about $3000 in excess. I feel confident now I can take steps towards my goal of starting an online store."
