When dropshipping, you sell products on your online store without keeping them in stock. Once you get an order, you forward it to your dropshipping supplier, who will ship the product directly to your customer.
If you want to start with AliExpress dropshipping, then the first step is to search AliExpress and try to find a winning dropshipping product.

Then, write some product descriptions, think of an original product name, configure the pricing and options, and you’re done!

But is this allowed?
Can you use AliExpress product videos for your store?
First of all, you should know that it’s great that you are trying to use video marketing for your dropshipping store.
Around 86% of businesses use video as a marketing tool.
And when you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sense.
Video marketing brings so many advantages to your dropshipping store.
For instance, you have a high probability of:
- Boosting your conversions and sales
- Reducing support queries

When creating videos for your dropshipping product, then it can be great to use (a part of) the product video that you may find on AliExpress.
However, is this allowed?
Well, officially, you can’t use an AliExpress supplier’s product videos without their consent, especially when those videos are created by a real brand.
Still, many people will tell you that it’s perfectly fine to copy an AliExpress product video. Considering China is the counterfeit republic of the world (80% of the world’s counterfeits are produced there), then you would even think that they’re right.
I even heard that when someone steals your idea in China, you should be happy, because in that case, it must have been a great idea!
While I don’t agree about that (and you probably won’t either), your Chinese supplier may do (and he will probably be used to it already).
Furthermore, I have also never heard of anyone getting into trouble for using AliExpress product videos on their store.
So, the chances of you getting into trouble when copying an AliExpress product video are probably small. But just to be sure, I strongly recommend asking your supplier for permission before you do it.
Your supplier probably won’t care.
Asking a supplier for permission is even more important when they use a brand’s video on the product page. That supplier might have an agreement to use that footage, but you don’t!
It’s best to use your common sense. If you seen another brand’s name in the video, you will know that it isn’t your supplier’s footage.
Also, if your supplier says “yes” to your question, then do a bit of research outside of that product page to verify that it’s indeed their video.
If you’ve done all those steps, then you will know for sure that you won’t get into trouble.

That means that you will have to find an Instagram influencer, send them your product, let them make a couple of videos and pictures of it, and give you a shoutout.
