Are you wondering how to learn about dropshipping and eCommerce in 2020? Well, can I say that you won’t be wondering after this article anymore; no seriously, you won’t! I will show you exactly how to learn more about dropshipping and eCommerce. The best thing? Most resources will be free! No more “gurus”.
1) Put your mindset right
Most people get into this dropshipping and eCommerce space because they got an ad from a so-called “guru”.
They believe now that dropshipping equals “easy money” or “getting rich quick” while failing to understand that they are starting a real business.
If that’s you, then sorry, but I’m going to burst those dreams for you.
A lot of so-called “gurus” talk about this, but do you know what they all have in common?
They got a course (and most are not even that cheap)!
Maybe you should buy their course and follow them step-by-step to get rich, right?
Here is more information about these “guru’s”, and why they are selling courses.
Then what can you do?
First off, you can learn dropshipping for free instead of paying for a paid dropshipping course! More on how to learn dropshipping for free below.
And secondly, let’s change your mindset to the correct mindset that you should have when you want to open a dropshipping store.
Instead of thinking, you will be rich the next day; you will need to start treating your dropshipping store like a real business (which it is)! And you will need to start looking at what your customers want and not what your pockets want.
Put your time and effort into it instead of opening a store in a few hours, importing a few products, and starting advertisements already without trying to be unique at all.
If you do the second one, then that’s the correct recipe for the failure of your dropshipping store. If you’re interested in learning more about how to be more unique than other dropshipping stores, then I suggest reading my other articles that I linked to below:

2) Learn how to learn
This might be a weird step for you, but I personally think it’s a really important step.
You need to learn how to learn!
The hardest thing is that you will need to learn it all by your self (or maybe you’re lucky, and you’re doing this with someone you know).
This kind of learning won’t be anything like when you were (or are) at school.
There won’t be someone waiting with a test or punish you when you don’t do your homework.
Yes, that might sound super great, but this also means that there will challenges, like how to learn. You will need to motivate yourself a lot!
So, how to learn?
If you’re interested now in learning how to learn better, then I got some great resources for you.
Just keep in mind that this step is optional. I just think it’s great to learn this because this will mean that you will remember everything better!
Here are my biggest tips for you:
- Just do it! Go start. Seriously. You will need to start in order to make mistakes. And making mistakes will help you to learn! Just look at this great quote:
The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture
- Take notes when you’re learning! Take some notes when you’re learning something new. This way, you’re more likely to remember it. (Source) Plus, you will remember it even better if these notes are handwritten! (Source)
- When you’re learning, not only take notes but also put it into practice what you learned. For example, if you learned how to create product images using Photoshop, then go ahead and create a product image. This way, you’re more likely to remember it! Just take a look at this from InformED:
Putting your learning into practice is important for cementing it in your mind, because practice creates new neural pathways in the brain. Each time you practice a new skill or apply some new piece of information in a practical way, those pathways are strengthened and you’ll be less and less likely to forget what you’ve learned. From InformED
