Before starting, make sure you meet all eligibility requirements to sell your products on Amazon; otherwise, Amazon can’t let you open an Amazon professional seller account.
Now, start with the following steps to create an Amazon seller account:
- Navigate to Amazon Seller Central Account.
- Then, sign up as an Amazon seller with your name and email address, then set a password.
Once an Amazon account is created, a page will appear where you must enter the following details:
- Business email address or Amazon customer account
- Internationally chargeable credit card
- Government ID (identity verification protects sellers and customers)
- Tax information
- Phone number
- A bank account number and routing number

3. Create and connect an Amazon product listing to your Shopify store
If you're a beginner, you must first purchase a unique UPC (universal product code) to list your products on Amazon.
The Amazon UPC is primarily a unique six-digit code used for inventory management, properly cataloging each product, and tracking when and where it is shipped. You can buy it from GS1, an NGO that specializes in global retail product identification.
After creating an Amazon Seller Central account, it’s time to add new Amazon product listings by following the steps below:
- Check on the Amazon Seller Central account’s menu bar.
- Click on the ‘Inventory’ dropdown menu and select ‘Add products’.
- On the ‘Add product' page, you can select one of three options.
First, if you want to add an already-existing Amazon product to your listing search by name or ID.
If it's not listed, select ‘Create a new product listing’ and fill out all the following details:
- SKU (stock keeping unit) and product identifier (GTIN, UPC, or ASIN)
- Name, brand, category, details, and images of the product
- Price and shipping options
- Product condition, available quantity
- Keywords, search terms, target audience, intended use
Or if you want to upload products in bulk, you have a third option, ‘bulk upload’.
Now, the Amazon product listing is complete, go to the Shopify profile settings.
If you already have a Shopify store, you can proceed directly; if not, you must create a Shopify store.
Now, connect Shopify to an Amazon listing:
- Go to the sales channel section from your Shopify profile, then click ‘Amazon’. If Amazon is not listed as a sales channel, you can integrate it with a third-party app.
- Go to ‘Listings’.
- Then, click ‘Link products’ > ‘Browse products’.

7. Fulfill orders on your Shopify store
Now, your Shopify store has a product page to sell products.
When a customer buys Amazon products listed on your Shopify product page, you can fulfill the order from your Shopify admin. So, since those orders are marked as ‘Amazon’, you can track which marketplace brings in the most orders.
To fulfill the orders manually from your Shopify account, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Shopify admin page.
- Go to the ‘Order details’ section, and click ‘Orders’.
- Select the order number and the location (if you’re using multiple locations, change according to the order locations), then click ‘Save’.
- If your Shopify store is based in the US, Australia, or Canada, you can use Shopify shipping to fulfill orders.
- Choose the shipping service and click on ‘Buy shipping label’.
- Or if you are using your Shopify store from another country with another fulfillment option for shipping, click ‘Fulfill items’ then ‘Mark as fulfilled’ and enter the tracking number for your shipping provider.
The order screen will then be updated with whether your Shopify orders were fulfilled or not.
Note: Since your products are from Amazon listings, make sure to follow Amazon's selling policies.
